Yes, i used slidesqueeze for the now playing data and it displays the current playing info but no album art, with a background photo. It updates when the image on the photo frame is changed. so set mine up for weather rss feed and bbc headline rss feed and image rotate every 10 second, this means that every 30 seconds the now playing info is displayed. We will see if the new software arrives, dont hold breath. this is still a great frame for the money £49.99 at play. Im sure it would be possible for a image only plugin to push a current now playing image to a folder that the wifi screen could pick up, it would need a wipe previous file command of course but i am sure someone is up to the task out there in Squeezebox plugin world. Could you elziko not do something like this?
