I'm having the same problem in Mac OS 10.5.5. The app will launch but there are no windows. SqueezeCenter sees the player and I can play songs through it. Very odd.
I've tried deleting the Java cache in ~/Library/Caches/Java as well as the preferences file org.titmuss.softsqueeze.plist Softsqueeze as an applet also doesn't work. I've also tried using a different account on the machine. I've tried it on a different computer (same OS version) and it works fine.
