Hello Currently I'm having the squeezebox connected directly to a power amplifier, and therefore, I can control all operations with the SB remote and the web interface. I can even put the power amp to standby, with a cable from the headphone jack to the standby trigger port on the power amp, using the Powerswictch II plugin.
I'm planning to buy a marantz SR 5003 receiver soon, to which I will connect my Squeezebox. If possible, I'd still like to be able to control it all from the remote or web interface, so that I can make the receiver tur on and change to the squeezebox input when I press play, and turn off when turning off the squeezebox, and maybe also adjust the volume through the SB remote and web interface. Would it be possible to send IR commands at these events to control a receiver? I've heard of the IR blaster method where you connect some IR sender to the headphone out, and have a plugin sending IR commands. Where do I get the IR blaster cable equipment that should be connected to the output and send IR commands to the receiver? Also, I've seen in the Marantz receivers' manual that it has a pair of remote in/out jacks, used to control other marantz equipment out of sight of the remote. Can these be used in some way for a direct cable connection from the squeezebox, instead of using the IR blaster?
