I should have mentioned as well - on the Boom the date on Line 1 runs right up to the 'alarm' symbol which is right-aligned on Line 1. Also the * to indicate data refresh seems to overwrite the alarm symbol.
If the date format could be shortened it will resolve problem 1. The second problem may be a bit more difficult.
