Like w42 says, you can set it to <maxVersion>*</maxVersion>, but you should understand that this is a *complete hack*. For that matter, so is changing it to 7.3+. The way it *should* work is that the author tests it against various versions of SC, verifies what versions it works with, and puts that in install.xml.
