New Update! It takes somewhere around 1-4 hours to update your paid status - my account is now recognized as a paid account. In addition, I am currently playing Pandora through my Softsqueeze player, and I did not have to upgrade to 7.3.1. So, the original poster that stated that paid subscribers can use Softsqueeze (without owning any hardware players) was correct! So at this moment, I'm using Squeezecenter 7.2.1 with Softsqueeze 3.7, and I have achieved exactly what I intented. To answer your question - yes, Softsqueeze is a valid device, but you must be a paid customer.
