When I wrote the plugin (mid 08) I didn't support a specific date option because the availability of WMA version of programs do not go back that far (6 months) - older programs are mainly in RealAudio format.
So some reason for not implementing it: 1. I tested various dates and I felt the probable confusion amongst users when some program play and other do not meant the feature would not be that helpful. 2. the amount of effort to develop and test a date entry system across 3 user interfaces (web, Controller and SB) be worthwhile vs. the number of probable users. 3. The "previous" while crude was easy to implement and I thought would meet most user's needs of going back a few days. *Creating an URL by hand.* The URLs are not straight forward - a program URL is clear enough http://thin.npr.org/p.php?pid=7&d=20081220 The "d" parameter is the date(e.g. 2008 12 20) . The "pid" parameter is the program id such as "Morning Edition" or "All things considered" - but this URL returns a HTML page of program segments not a playable playlist. Furthermore, each segment has unique numbers such as http://thin.npr.org/s.php?sId=98538331&rid=7 http://thin.npr.org/s.php?sId=98443492&rid=7 This means the segment can be reached from different menus such as program, Topics, etc. and is not tied to a program or a date. So there is no easy way to create a playable URL that can be entered into Tune-in. A feature request is unlikely to be implemented unless there is a change in User interface support. I suggest if you want to trawl NPR back editions now - use a PC and the WaveInput plugin. I also think the "previous" will not work beyond the start of the "thin" interface which was about nov 07. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51002 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
