Thanks! I was just about to request the original poster to check the log, 
because I've taken a look at the code and I see no reason for this not to be 
working.

iTunesUpdate should log whether or not it's attempting to save the rating to 
iTunes.
With this we can try and narrow down whether the problem is in the plugin or 
iTunes...

You may need to change the plugin.iTunesUpdate log setting to Debug under 
Server Settings->Advanced->Logging to get all of the messages to appear.
