The statistics are stored in the SqueezeCenter MySQL database, so there
is no harm deleting the old Plugins/TrackStat directory. Just make sure
you don't delete the directory where you have stored the TrackStat
backup files if you have made manual or scheduled backups of TrackStat
statistics.

The safe way to upgrade is:
1. Before you upgrade SqueezeCenter, perform a backup of TrackStat data
through the Backup section of the TrackStat settings page
2. Upgrade SqueezeCenter
3. Install the new version of TrackStat through SqueezeCenter
Settings/Advanced/Extension Downloader

Step 1 is only important if you do a clean install in step 2 where the
MySQL database is deleted, because then you will need the backup to
perform a restore from file in TrackStat settings page after step 3.

Unzipping the new version as described in the wiki is the old way of
installing plugins, with SqueezeCenter 7.3 the preferred way is to
install through Extension Downloader.
