A more flexible approach would of course be nice, but you know how it goes if one needs (ok, WANTS) something FAST :-) The »solution« above was just the »minimum changes, don’t break anything« approach. Using RegExp’s is actually a great idea. Thinking about DATE values in FLAC files (ISO Dates like 2009-02-16) vs. the 4-digit YEAR in ID3v2.3 and other uses.
