Thanks so much..I have disabled the flac options as you suggested and there is a definite improvement....however looking in Qlogr the CPU does seem to be pegged at 99.8% so if there is something I still need to do I would be very grateful for any advice. Mplayer version would be the default one installed with SSOTS
