If you are running Vista, you need to start the MusicIP client as administrator. The headless server is operating as a system account, and is separated from your generic user account settings.
Navigate in the start menu to the MusicIP Mixer icon (or search for it in the search bar), right click on the icon, and go to the Compatibility tab.
