The seeking-issue is with local streams of mp3s. I don't think that
transcoding is enabled, I haven't changed any of the settings for
transcoding since installing squeezecenter so I'm not sure how to check,
but judging by the amount of CPU used by squeezecenter (very low on an
atom cpu) it is not using transcoding, but I'm not sure.

It is worth noting that the time-slider doesn't jump around in iPeng,
it is the audio output on SoftSqueeze that does. When I seek I can see
SoftSqueeze jumping to the correct position and after 2-3 seconds it
jumps back a little, after that SoftSqueeze seems to be consistently
lagging 2-3 seconds behind iPeng while the actual audio skips around
like crazy.

Do you believe this issue doesn't exist if using real hardware instead
of softsqueeze? I'm planning on buying squeezecenter hardware soon so
that might solve it for me.
