Thanks for that.

To explain to others who might be interested in what Epoch1970 is
getting at here:

One of the problems with trying to stick with using SqueezeCenter 7.3.4
is that every time you connect to SqueezeNetwork, your player's firmware
asks to be updated. And every time you switch back to your local
SqueezeCenter, the players claim to need yet another firmware update, or
rather a down-date. Let's call this the -firmware shuffle-. If you are
a heavy SqueezeNetwork user, this constant firmware updating will
eventually drive you insane.

The way around this is to go to
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/ and download
and save locally all the files there. Then, copy them into your
SqueezeCenter 7.3.4 firmware directory. This stops the firmware shuffle
dead in its tracks and makes sticking with a previous release of SC/SBS
much easier.

So, if you're running on linux, you might do something like this:

Code:
--------------------

  #!/bin/sh
  cd /usr/share/squeezecenter/Firmware
  mkdir bak
  mv *.bin bak
  mv *.version bak

  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/boom.version?view=co
-O boom.version
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/boom_30.bin?view=co
-O boom_30.bin
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/boom_50.bin?view=co
-O boom_50.bin
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/receiver.version?view=co
 -O receiver.version
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/receiver_65.bin?view=co
 -O receiver_65.bin
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/squeezebox.version?view=co
 -O squeezebox.version
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/squeezebox_10.bin?view=co
 -O squeezebox_10.bin
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/squeezebox_40.bin?view=co
 -O squeezebox_40.bin
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/squeezebox2.version?view=co
 -O squeezebox2.version
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/squeezebox2_130.bin?view=co
 -O squeezebox2_130.bin
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/transporter.version?view=co
 -O transporter.version
  wget
http://svn.slimdevices.com/slim/7.4/trunk/server/Firmware/transporter_80.bin?view=co
 -O transporter_80.bin
  echo 'Done!'

--------------------

This is a safe trick to employ, as long as there haven't been any major
changes made to the Squeezebox client protocol between the previous and
current server releases. Personally, I've never observed that
incompatibility. I employed this trick with the switch between SS 6.5
and SC 7.0 and I'm employing it now with SC 7.3 & SBS 7.4.
