I just installed WaveInput 1.05 on Server 7.4.1 running on XP on a Dell desktop system. This is my first time trying WaveInput.
The bad news: There was no "Stereo Mix" source, even after I updated the Sigmatel driver as suggested on http://www.ekhoury.com/2006/08/25/sigmatel-stereo-mix-support-for-dells/. The good news: I decided to use the "Line In" source and try playing WaveInput anyway (creating a WaveInput entry in Favorites). Lo and behold, it worked! The bad news: The volume was pretty low (i.e., I had to turn my stereo's volume significantly higher than normal, which makes me nervous, and yes, every PC volume control I could find was on max) and there was a delay of nearly 5 seconds. The good news: Updating the driver increased the volume on my PC itself enough that I am no longer desperate to get the sound out of my stereo. But I guess I need to play with buffering if I want to use WaveInput; 5 seconds sounds longer than most people have encountered, but I haven't tried adjusting buffering at all. Not sure what to do about the volume. I'd welcome any tips. Thanks for creating this plug-in. -- bruce ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bruce's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2955 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
