Playback through the plugin is just a hack. You will need at least one player, can be softsqueeze or squeezeplay, to be able to create an playlist (you don't have to actually play something on that player, just add stuff to the current playlist. If you the go to NowPlaying and swipe right, you get to a plugin page with a local playback button.
