back to the legal issue. 
First, of all, lyrdb offers their user provided content for educational
purposes only. One might argue that's not ridding the provider of
additional measures to enforce this limitation. However that's their
problem.

Secondly, they allow access to this data via a web-browser interface
and some other http-interface. So consequently, in order to avoid any
kind of legal infringement Apple would need to ban this site from the
browser too.

One could argue that a browser's purpose is not mainly for lyrics and
can hence not be held responsible for somebody misusing it for
copyrighted material. 
So the same should hold for any application: If I wrote a webbrowser,
would Apple ban it for fear of it allowing to view copyrighted material?
Probably not.

I think it cannot be generally decided whether this feature is legal or
not. It depends on its impact on somebody elses rights. 
And I don't see how a niche product like an SB remote controll can
affect the revenues of music companies.
