I see. That's confusing, though, as the info for "Fast Start" says:
"The mplayer -bandwidth option is normally used to enable streams to start playing as rapidly as posible. This works for most cases but has been known to prevent streams playing on some machines. Set to disabled if you have problems playing real streams on your computer." which sounds like disabling it would do exactly the same (by different means) as you mention above to deal with Lyric's very slow stream (still 16kbps), i.e., a stream problem & not a PC problem....? Although it sounds to me like it could be either or maybe a combination of both. I only had this problem with slow RTE streams - all other streams are fine - which suggests that its the stream in this case.
