The CDDA2WAV application works on Linux, OSX and Windows so some of its text output is misleading.
CDDA2WAV does scan for devices IDE interfaces (aka AT interface) as well as USB and SATA. If your CD device does not show up on "scanbus" then there is something strange/special with your system.
