I can at least answer on the question of where that folder is: Open the Web Interface (of Squeezebox Server) and go to Settings->General (that's where you end up if you click "Settings"). Here's an item called "Playlist Folder", that's what you are looking for. If there's nothing in there then that's the problem, you might try to add the same folder you use as the "Music Folder" or a subfolder of it.
