I am afraid my input is not going to be very helpful to you - I have
"upgraded" three times in the last few months, and each time I have
uninstalled the previous version and installed the new, losing all
settings (I upgraded as my orininal installation stopped working). I
assume that using the upgrade option reatins settings, b ut cannot
confirm that. However, when installing the new version:
- make sure you have the latest version of the DS manager firmware
- restart the NAS (and swithc it off at the mains and re start that
way)

Not much help, I'm afraid!
