I'm sure there are many different approaches. I don't use SBS/My Squeezebox to get podcasts.
I've used Itunes and Juice, as a podcast aggregator. Finding and adding podcasts is easier in Itunes but Juice is easier to use and contains fewer "do it this way because we say so" features that Apple's stuff is known for. In Itunes, podcasts are in Itunes Store but they are free. Set up the podcasts you want. Set the download directory to a folder under the main SBS music folder directory. Either by using the music folder access, or doing a rescan for new files, the podcast files that have been downloaded will be accessible on your SB devices.
