Ah, good to hear it's sorted.
Sounds like something was corrupt in the thumbs folder.
The hues file just contains a cache of album coverart colours as
recalculating the hues slows the scanning down.

Wouldnt suprise me, the folders option hasnt been touched for a number
of years now.
It's not really a recommended scanning method for full-time use..
