The default profile is the one that is in effect when you are using the
Controller for its normal purpose.  If you don't want to go into the
configuration screen (easy to do by holding the back+home hotkey
combination) then I would set the default profile to the dummy one so
that the Controller works as normal when browsing the music library and
create a menu that is linked to your universal-remote profile.  When you
are in the menu the universal-remote profile is in effect when you
aren't the Controller behaves as normal.  Maybe a key combination to
cycle the default profile through the available options could be
useful?
