I understand that third party plugins must be set up on Squeezebox
Server and the Squeezebox unit must then be connected to the local
server before the plugin becomes visible on the unit. But it's not
clear to me whether the plugin is then always available on the unit or
whether there is a dependency on the local Squeezebox server to have
access to the third party plugin. Can anyone explain?

I'm using a new Squeezebox Radio running 7.5.1 r9218. I've installed
SBS on a MacBook and have set up the NPRRadio plugin there. But I
haven't been able to make a successful connection between the Radio and
local Server. Before I troubleshoot this further, I want to clarify
whether I'll need to maintain an ongoing connection to the MacBook or
whether I can just re-engineer the connection whenever I want to add a
third party plugin.
