I've just updated my 3rd Party Spotify plugin to release 1.2.0 This release primarily provides an update so it will cooperate with the offical Logitech Spoitify plugin for users who upgrade to 7.5.3 or the latest 7.6 server. On older servers the plugin should perform as before.
On servers with official Logitech Spotify support, the plugin should now coexist with Logitech based Spotify support. You will need to add your Spotify account details to both the plugin settings page and your MySqueezebox.com account. There are two new options on the settings page in this case: - Always Stream via Helper - always use the plugin method of playback even for a Touch or Radio with the new firmware playback support - Use Built-in formatting - use the Logitech formating for Now Playing and Playlists rather than the plugin version (try each out to see which you prefer) I'm really pleased that Logitech has released offical support for Spotify and would encourage anyone who wants music streaming without needing a server machine to try out a Touch or Radio with the official support. This plugin will continue to offer more capbilities as it is able to use the server machine. In summary these are: - Support of older players, from Squeezebox2 onwards - Support of Synchronisation of multiple players - Several additional menus such as recent artists, recent albums, radio, similar artists, folders in playlists etc - Caching of audio on your server machine. If you constantly listen to the same tracks this may mean it creates less network traffic... Anyway I hope the two solutions can coexist and more people can now appreciate Spotify on their Squeezebox(es). -- Triode ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
