I guess one glimmer of hope is the last phrase in this quote from the Huggers blog posting / announcement:
"All radio station sites, music events, podcasts and programme pages will be integrated to focus on highly interactive live radio, quick and seamless access to programming, support for new music and personalisation - on whatever internet-connected device you happen to have." At least some of the team within the online radio team at the BBC are definitely "on our side" - I just hope those people don't all get swept away in the pending cull....
