Not sure about other server platforms, but if running on Linux (Ubuntu in my case) then this solution:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54713 works really well with my Hauppauge Nova-T card (make sure you get the later version which solved some issues with the first cut). It requires some Perl modules from CPAN but these are pretty easy to acquire. I ran an alternative solution for some years based on DVBSHOUT and ICECAST2 but the code above is a bit more flexible and definitely more stable. Will happily stream multiple stations in parallel from the same multiplex and will re-tune at will to any station.
