I think port numbers above 1000 are available to all apps but be careful that firewall will allow incoming requests.
SBS needs a name at the end of the stream such as testaudio.mp3 and SBS will use the extension to determine codec (i.e. mp3) as VLC does not supply that info in MIME form in http headers.
