If/When this happens again. After stopping the stream - clear the playlist to make sure SB player is stopped. Then check using task manager or process explorer to see if any vlc process is still "runnning".
With other tuner cards I've seen some processes belonging to vlc left after main process has died. In those cases it occurred when channel surfing going from one favorite (i.e.frequency) to another quickly.
