Since I tested VLCPlay using my tuner card and it ran for 10 hrs - I don't think there is an issue with the back end streaming into SBS. So my gut feel is that the VLC "bug" might be hard to find and even harder to fix - so the next best thing would be to get VLC to shutdown properly so that SBS can restart automatically the VLCPlay stream if it stops by using the "repeat" button set to "repeat playlist".
