Afraid I can't do anything if the username/password doesn't work - you
can check the spotifyd.exe.conf file to see if it has the username &
password as you expect (they are written in the clear).  Do either of
them include any non ascii characters?  This was causing a problem in
early releases but I believe it is now working ok.  Spaces are not
supported though.
