The whitebear server is visible in the network neighbourhood but the library is not visible within wmp on Vista. If I share my phone's library then that isn't visible either. A Tversitiy library is visible as is a wmp11 library (both from my 2003 server). The autosync is supposed to work by downloading the library's songlist to the phone. You can then browse the cached catalog while offline and create playlists. The phone then automatically downloads the tracks in the playlists when it connects to my wifi. I haven't managed to get the autosync feature working using any server. With whitebear as the server the phone cannot download the catalog, with wmp as the server the catalog is downloaded but the tracks are not, with TVersity as the server the library isn't even visible to the sync app (despite being manually browsable).
Another few points worthy of mention: - My Vista laptop (that does not show the whitebear library) is not listed in Whitebear's Client User Agent Header list. - In order to get whitebear to work with the phone I had to use the test version and tick the first two compatibility options for the phone's user agent header. I have experimented with other combinations of options but haven't managed to resolve my issues. - From my phone I CAN play a song from my phone directly to a squeezebox via whitebear's proxy feature (that is really cool!). All my tracks are mp3 format (most of them are 128 or 192 kbps although there are a few exceptions). All of them are playable on my squeezeboxes, phone, and Vista laptop. My thought was that some people (eg xbox owners) may be using a DNLA server that exposes photos and video as well as music and would therefore require the renderer proxy feature of whitebear but not the server feature. -- indifference_engine 2xReceiver, 2xController, 1xSB3, 2xSqueezeSlave, SBS 7.5.3 Inventor of SqueezeIR applet for the Controller ------------------------------------------------------------------------ indifference_engine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20698 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80632 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
