you referenced is included, although I'm not sure what all the context

Does the above mean that I am on the right track? 

In the interim, I will try the crontab sequence. I have read a few more
things about crontab but I am still not sure what the initial text
string should be (the verbiage, if any, that precedes the 30 0 * * 2-0 
touch /var/lock/spc-block command).
