Which connectivity bug? There are connectivity problems with the iPhone
and then there is an update bug, preventing the provision of server side
menus under certain conditions, but the former is an iPhone/router issue
and I fail to see how the latter would cause this.

This sounds much more like a server or network issue to me, otherwise
it would not be the Transporter and the iPhone having the issues.
iPeng uses a completely different set of control interfaces than the
Transpoerter

What exactly is the problme? Do you have playback problems?
What exactly is slow?
Which iPhone do you use?
How big is your library and are you sure scanning and syncing caches is
over?
