I recently created a plugin to play Classic FM's live and listen again content, based on the Flash AAC streams published on Classic's UK Radio Player console. The quality of the streams does not match the BBC AAC streams, but they are quite listenable. The plugin also makes available a number of other stations within Classic's parent group.
It has been successfully running on my Mac OSX system with attached Squeezebox Classic and SqueezePlay, and I have no reason to suppose that it won't work on any other system, too. But that has yet to be tested. It uses the RTMP support provided by the BBC iPlayer plugin, so it requires that plugin to be installed too. I've set up a repository for anyone who may like to test it out. The plugin can be installed using the server's Extension Downloader by adding http://mrw-plugins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/repo.xml to the list of Additional Repositories in the Extension downloader. For a manual download, visit the project home page: http://code.google.com/p/mrw-plugins. If you let me know of a problem, I shall try to fix it (a log would be helpful). One thing I plan attend to is the layout and content of the menus. These mirror Classic's UK radio player console, and I find that the titles are too long for comfortable navigation on the player. That shouldn't be difficult to deal with. -- mrw ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mrw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38299 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87894 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
