I'm not sure it's based on acoustid. The acoustid developer just
mentioned a few weeks ago that acoustid isn't ready for production
usage yet. Also, EchoNest is not mentioned at all on neither acoustid
blog or mailing list. I think acoustid might just be mentioned on the
musicbrainz blog because it's something they have hoped for during the
last months.
