If you want to copy ratings from SBS to MusicIP, you would enable
"MusicIP Statistics Export".
If you want to copy ratings from MusicIP to SBS (including TrackStat),
you would enable "MusicIP Statistics Import".

If I remember correctly, the default SBS scanner will import ratings
into SBS database if MusicIP integration is enabled, but it will only
affect TrackStat ratings for unrated tracks. TrackStat data for rated
tracks will only be updated if you have activated the "MusicIP
Statistics Import" module. TrackStat ratings are stored separately from
SBS ratings, the reason for this is to avoid that the standard SBS
scanner doesn't overwrite the invaluable TrackStat data during scanning
with data from RATING tags, iTunes or MusicIP.

So if you like to change ratings through the MuiscIP application user
interface, you will need "MusicIP Statisics Import" activated but if
you only plan to change ratings through SBS you don't need it to be
activated.

The "MusicIP Statisics Export" module will overwrite any existing
ratings in MusicIP, this is ok as long as you have the correct ratings
in SBS. If your correct ratings are in MusicIP you want to do an import
through "MusicIP Statistics Import" module first.

If you want a two way solution, where you can change ratings both in
SBS and in MusicIP and always keep both in sync, that's theoretically
possible by enabling both "MusicIP Statistics Export" and "MusicIP
Statistics Import" modules. I think there are some users that run it
this way but it's a bit risky since there are going to be conflicts if
a specific track rating has been changed in both SBS and MusicIP
simultaneously. In a two-way solution it's important to configure the
"Scanning order in automatic and "Scan All"" option in Custom Scan for
these modules so the import executes before the export, the reason
being that the import module have some built-in merging logic based on
last modification time while the export module always will overwrite
existing data.

As said above, TrackStat info will not be deleted unless you have
activated the "MusicIP Statistics Import" module.

The safe approach which I'd recommend, is to change ratings through SBS
and only activate the "MusicIP Statistics Export" module to make sure
they are transfered to MusicIP and can be used in MusicIP
mixing/playlist logic. You should activate the "Dynamically update
statistics" in the "MusicIP Statistics Export" module to make the
synchronization happen continuously.

I'd also recommend that you configure the MusicIP plugin in its "Only
read mixable status from MusicIP" mode.

If you decide to use the "MusicIP Statistics Import" module, make sure
you take a TrackStat backup first so you can revert if something goes
wrong. If you have nightly backups configured in TrackStat, you can
just make sure that you keep the backup file from the night before.
