I believe this is a memory leak on the server side. Do you use long playlists? Or large Artwork? Does it happen even if you don't play, but only browse, especially albums? There is little you can do on the client side about this, iPeng may be a bit more challenging because it always pulls the whole current playlist and the artwork needs to be resized once but it's still an error of the Touch's software.
