This is definitely weird. I've played around with it a bit and can't really reproduce it. My next suggestion would be a "clear and rescan" of the database. Are the tracks shown for the correct album? I wonder whether something is broken in the way the server handles the "traditional" API (iPeng doesn't use the menu mode for this like SqueezePlay etc.); that would definitely be a server error.
