Among others that were completely unusable for me until beta 3 are facebook and weatherPro, and TapaTalk just to name a few I use frequently. I made this comment when beta 2 was the status quo, especially beta 4 got much better. > > Obviously I don't expect apps to just work with a beta OS and I don't > blame you for the crashes. I really > miss iPeng. > I am waiting for XCode to "stabilize" until I even start to consider doing serious iOS5 related work. Right now I get 4 exceptions in XCode with every single change I make to my project (like renaming a file). I now this is because I use a legacy project because with my new projects I created in XCode 4 it will only raise two exceptions per change. >From time to time XCode crashes on startup when trying to load a xib file which means I then have to find out which one it is, remove it from the project and re-add it. This is unusable crap. And that's the release version. I'm seriously angry about Apple here. I talked to Apple engineers (XCode developers, that is) and they had no idea what the problem is but seriously, EVERYBODY around me there had the same trouble. Apple's got a really serious quality problem right now. I'm not willing to invest even more days to debug yet another XCode version. That aside - I only have one serious development machine anymore and since I can't build for the App Store if I load 4.2 onto that machine I'm without debug capability for iOS 5. That said: iPEng doesn't crash as often for me under beta 4 (the keychain issue wasn't causing the crashes, that was a communication stack issue, I believe, because all the Apps where I saw this used to crash while trying to load data from the internet), there are only two crashes for which I get reports from Apple and one is one I've already fixed and which I believe may also be the reason for at least some of the crashes mentioned above although I did nut get any iOS 4 crash reports. The other one is one I seriously don't understand, somwhere deep in the graphics subsystem, I tend to claim that's an iOS issue. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
