Just installed 7.6 and it seems custom scan is causing the server to not playback. After install a scan was kicked off and then a custom scan started. It caused the music to actually freeze in playblack and only play a short burst of music every minute or so.
I restarted the server which means custom scan wasn't running and it seem fine now.
