Thanks Pippin. I will fix the volume on the Squeezebox to 100% and hopefully that will cure it.
I don't use the Playback option on IPeng - I purely use it as a control mech for my Vortexbox and Touch. With regard to the App store Icon - basicaly everytime i navigate out of IPeng the App store Icon has a red "1" on it indicating an update. When click on the Icon no updates for any apps are available. However, when I deleted and reinstated IPeng this stopped last night - have yet to see if it is still doing it today.
