I'm still not too worried about this as long as we can make it possible
to only do a full rescan once initially when you install SMD and then
after that use incremental scans when adding music. Initially people
are probably going to be stuck in the concept of introducing new meta
data through tags but my vision is that in the future meta data will be
edited through our rich client and then no scanning is going to be
needed if you want to introduce new metadata. Scanning will basically
only be needed when you add or rename/move files but then we are
talking about an new/changed scan and not a full rescan.
However, as mentioned previously, there are a lot of things that can be
done to improve the performance if needed, so if we feel it's a problem
it can become a lot better than it is today.

It use a more optimized database structure when browsing and this is
created during stage 2 of the import, so I suspect this will be solved
when the import is finished.
