yup - permissions were the same as some other files I checked (squeezeboxserver / nogroup) as on /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/ as well as its folders (Plugins, cache, and prefs) and all files in /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache. (I did find a squeezeboxserver directory however which was root root, as were the files inside. So, I tried with that, but it then said again that the helper app is not running.
