The helper app did start running in the end. I rebooted to make sure that everything got killed, and then the helper app was running. I was able to load my playlists, but I couldn't get any streams going, and after a while I got "timed out waiting for data" messages. Also there seems to be an issue with remembering my password through server restarts. I don't have any log data, I'm afraid. Between all the things that were or were not happening, I wasn't being very methodical. For now I've reverted to 2.0.4.
