OK, tried your suggestions. spotifyd does NOT crash with that error when run from the command line, but in the web interface it still shows "..not running". I see there is also a spotyfydppc there, so tried that too for good measure, with the same effect, ie it doesn't crash. I changed the log level to TRACE, but there is nothing odd going on in the Terminal window right now, just the "started" message and a line showing the config.
