I'm not the expert regarding classical music here, but the page you
linked to describes how it's possible to set it up using third party
plugins. Unless you already know about it, it might be a good idea to
also see the following page which describes how to do it without third
party plugins:
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Beginners_Guide_To_Classical
The basic idea is that:
- Without third party plugins, you need to incorporate the information
you like to show in standard tags, like TITLE, ALBUM, ARTIST
- With third party plugins, you can use custom tags which makes it
possible to let the standard tags keep their original meaning.
If the only thing you want is to display MOVEMENT on the Touch Now
Playing screen, it might be worth to put this information in the TITLE
tag as this is already shown on the Now Playing screen on the Touch,
that way you don't need any third party plugins installed and
configured at all.
However, if you like more flexibility regarding browsing, the third
party plugins work together as follows:
- Custom Scan: Scans/reads custom tags from the music files, this is
typically used to scan WORK and sometimes MOVEMENT tags as these are
not scanned by standard Squeezebox Server scanner.
- Custom Browse: Makes it possible to browse your library by custom
tags, it requires the custom tags to be scanned by Custom Scan plugin.
- Multi Library: Makes it possible to divide your library into
classical music and other music to browse them separately. It requires
Custom Browse to accomplish this.
However, if you really want custom tags to also be displayed on the Now
Playing screen on the Touch, you will also need:
- Custom Clock Helper: Which makes it possible to forward custom tag
based title formats to the Touch.
- Custom Clock applet (installed on Tocuh itself): Which makes it
possible to define a custom Now Playing screen that contains custom
tags provided by Custom Clock Helper.
On older players (Boom, Classic, Transporter), you need Music
Information Screen plugin to customized the Now Playing screen.
Finally, the link you mention talk about the "Now Playing menu", this
is mostly applicable on old players (Boom, Classic, Transporter). It's
possible to design a similar menu on Touch/Radio/Controller using
Custom Browse and the "Browse by selected" item which can be selected
when clicking +/More button or hold-touching an item on the touch
screen, but that's not described in the tutorial you link to. If this
is something you like to do, let me know and I'll go into more details
about how to do this.
