Give Alan a break. All he said that you quoted was 'I'm at a loss to understand what the issue is here with the evidence so far'. Note the "with the evidence so far" part. All it means is he's looked at the logs, and they didn't contain anything that helped him understand the problem together with his knowledge of the source code. Maybe I didn't have the correct things logged? I have turned more logging on, and now even more after Alan asked on the bug. Talking of putting more effort in, where are logs from yourself? If you're bothered about the bug then clearly it is happening on your system, so instead of complaining about other people's perceived lack of effort how about helping and taking some logs of your own? It might happen slightly differently on your system, and the difference might help the developer.
