I've spent the last 2 hours trying to find the name and format of the audio device that vlc will accept, to no avail. Sound Recorder works - with 'Master' as the only available input. With arecord I can't find which device (or PCM?) to use. with 'pulse' it takes all audio including the microphone and I can't switch it off. I'm at a loss how to learn enough to be able to find such things out for myself. -- PasTim Server on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, 2 CPU, 2GHz, 4GB, FLAC files. Touch on Ethernet (in another room).
